🗺️ Detailed 7-Day Machame Route Itinerary
Day 1: Machame Gate (1,640m) → Machame Camp (3,010m)
Trekking Time: 5–7 hours
Vegetation Zone: Rainforest
Start your climb at Machame Gate with park registration and a briefing. Trek through lush rainforest with giant trees, moss-covered paths, and abundant birdlife. Wildlife sightings such as colobus monkeys are common. Overnight at Machame Camp above the forest line.

Day 2: Machame Camp → Shira Camp (3,840m)
Trekking Time: 4–6 hours
Vegetation Zone: Moorland
Ascend from the rainforest into open moorland. Cross the Shira Plateau, offering panoramic views of Mount Meru and Kibo Peak. The vast plateau and giant heather create perfect opportunities for scenic photography. Overnight at Shira Camp.

Start the summit push around midnight. Reach Stella Point at sunrise and continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Descend via Mweka Route, transitioning through alpine desert and rainforest. Celebrate at the park gate and receive your summit certificate.
